قَالُوا۟ تَقَاسَمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ لَنُبَيِّتَنَّهُۥ وَأَهْلَهُۥ ثُمَّ لَنَقُولَنَّ لِوَلِيِّهِۦ مَا شَهِدْنَا مَهْلِكَ أَهْلِهِۦ وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَ
انہوں نے آپس میں بڑی قسمیں کھا کھا کر عہد کیا کہ رات ہی کو صالح اور اس کے گھر والوں پر ہم چھاپہ ماریں گے، اور اس کے وارﺛوں سے صاف کہہ دیں گے کہ ہم اس کے اہل کی ہلاکت کے وقت موجود نہ تھے اور ہم بالکل سچے ہیں
They said, “Let us bind ourselves by an oath sworn in the name of God that we shall attack Salih and his family by night, and to his protector [who demands retribution], we shall say, “We were not present when they were slain. We are telling the truth.”
